Food & Beverage Financial Controller
Location: Queens, NY (On-Site)
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 9:00AM–5:00PM (additional hours as needed)
Salary: 135-165K

Overview
A well-established, multi-entity hospitality group with approximately $15M in annual revenue is seeking an experienced Food & Beverage Financial Controller to oversee financial operations across three operating businesses (catering hall, restaurant, food service division) as well as affiliated real estate holdings.
This is a high-visibility leadership role responsible for financial oversight, reporting accuracy, internal controls, projections, and team management. The ideal candidate brings strong hospitality financial expertise, excels in Excel, and has a deep understanding of balance sheets, general ledger analysis, and multi-entity reporting structures.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Team Oversight
- Oversee and manage a team of 6 accounting professionals across operating units
- Provide mentorship, accountability, and performance management
- Ensure timely and accurate completion of accounting functions
Operating Entities Oversight
- Supervise:Accounts Payable / Accounts Receivable, Payroll Accountant, Staff Accountant, Senior Accounting Manager
- Conduct weekly P&L analysis and variance review with management
- Lead weekly cash flow reviews and forecasting
- Monitor monthly budgeting and financial projections
- Analyze balance sheet and general ledger activity, including intercompany transactions
- Implement and strengthen internal controls across sales, purchasing, HR, and accounting (credit card usage, approvals, documentation compliance, etc.)
Real Estate Portfolio Oversight
- Supervise Staff Accountant and Administrative support
- Conduct monthly cash flow reviews
- Oversee rent collections, bill payments, and tax obligations
Financial Strategy & Reporting
- Prepare financial projections and forward-looking planning models
- Support ownership with strategic financial analysis
- Liaise with financial institutions regarding banking and account management
- Partner with external accounting firm for year-end tax preparation and ongoing compliance
- Lead ad hoc financial projects in collaboration with CFO and executive leadership
Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience as a Controller within a hospitality, F&B group, or hotel environment
- Strong understanding of F&B financials, cost controls, payroll, and budgeting
- Advanced Excel proficiency (modeling, forecasting, pivot tables, financial analysis)
- Deep knowledge of balance sheet and general ledger analysis, including intercompany reconciliations
- Experience managing multi-entity financial structures
- Experience with hospitality financial reporting systems (Compete experience preferred)
- Real estate accounting knowledge a plus (Yardi experience preferred)
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage accounting teams
